While I hesitate to squish people into a label, it seems a label must be applied to that which I do:
Shall we consult Websters?
Mentor: a trusted counselor or guide
This seems to be the best conceptual fit for me. It connotes someone who has done what you want to do, and you can follow them around and pick their brain and listen to them and put their experience and guidance into your own context and apply it as you see fit.
In this case, the end result being you get really good at being your own guru.
My passion is to to mentor people who are ready to reshape their life to match who they feel they are meant to be. My work is about removing discomfort through noticing and uncovering your wisdom; finding meaning, purpose and connection to you and your world.
The bottom line, you get no judgement, straight talk, from a funny, sometimes irreverent, deeply caring person who is passionate about getting you connected and comfortable.
Simple.

In case you're interested in a little of what I believe.
I believe that people often say things when they are with me that they never thought they’d say out loud, and what they hear from themselves is often game-changing.
I believe I’m here to change the world, not in terms of a broken that needs fixed, but of a wholeness that needs remembering.
I also believe you’re here to change the world. We all have circles of influence.
I believe in the power of curious listening; to self and others. It is the foundation that reminds us of our deep deserving and worthiness.
I believe in the profound power of forgiveness.
I believe in the power of meditation and yoga.
I believe I will continue to come back and edit this page. I’m always changing, so shouldn’t the page?
But the bottom line is:
I believe in the power of trusting your inner flame.

And just because I like to be explain-ey and you might want to understand more about my approach…or just need something to fill your time:
How about a metaphor?I really like to cook. I’m quite good at it. I like to use recipes, but I also like to play around with them, experimenting with the foundations I already have to create dishes that are my own. I’ve always enjoyed feeding people. If you’re in my sphere of awareness and geography, and I begin to care about you, I will feed you. I like cooking special food, putting it on a nicely set table, making it a special experience.
Sometimes I serve up something that the hungry didn’t even know they liked or wanted. Sometimes, once they’ve tried it they love it so much they want to learn how to make it themselves.
Some people don’t believe they have the skills to do so.
Whether it is an awesome meal or a new perspective, I nourish people by giving them attention and creativity and deliciousness. I love showing them they can have it every day if they want, by giving it to themselves.
Tasting, learning, making it your own.
It’s a rare restaurant that gives me something that is truly novel, delicious, nourishing…and something I couldn’t prepare and give myself, often as well or really much better than the restaurant. That wasn’t always the case. I’ve taught myself to be an awesome cook by reading, learning from others, and experimenting, similar to how I’ve created an awesome life.
In mentoring people, I’m not looking to be like the highly specialized, haute cuisine restaurant, offering up ideas or support only accessible for a fee, which can only be gotten by coming and sitting at my table. I’m more interested in being like a restaurant/cooking school, where you can come and be served extraordinary and unique ways of tasting life, AND can also ask for the recipe. You can also receive a list of techniques or resources, where to find the ingredients, and if you want, lessons in creating that experience for yourself, as well as the skill to alter and play with the recipe for your life until it truly hits the spot for your very unique palate.
What I hope is that if you come and sit and taste and learn here, you will go back and have a seat at your table. There, you will find that many of the ingredients you need were always in your pantry, and you can create a tasty life for yourself effortlessly.
If you are interested in learning more, head on over here.
